What does an artist do when she injures her shoulder? She takes her baking skills and creates an award winning and scrumptious array of assorted gourmet cakes and cookies! Well at least that's what California based Cakes Suzette founder Susan Watkins did. I recently had the pleasure of trying Cake Suzette's signature bite sized (although in my opinion I would have to say 2 bite sized (easily!) ) Cake O's , and may I just say up front that it most certainly was a great pleasure indeed! Fist things first, this is one company that takes the quality standards of their products very seriously.
Whenever humanly possible Cakes Suzette makes a point of using both local and organic ingredients! The eggs are cage free, the chocolate is a rich Belgium, the lemons are all fresh picked from their very own tree, and the vanilla is purchased from the Sonoma Syrup Company that just happens to donate a portion of their proceeds to support the fight against breast cancer! Fabulous!!! The flavors range from Chocolate Mint, Brownie, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Lemon Cake, Vanilla Chocolate, Coconut, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Coffee, and Red Velvet. I generally have my favorites (especially when there are so many to choose from) however in the case of Cake O's, I am equally crazy over each and every single one! They are all rich, moist, unique, delicious, pretty, and amazingly satisfying! They are available in a variety of quantities (including gift baskets), and the packaging is quite lovely as well!
