When it comes to soft pretzels, New Yorkers are quite used to the very best! So when native New Yorker Harris Golden and his lovely wife Sandy made to the choice to bring that New York flair to San Diego California, they knew a thing or two about what a quality soft pretzel was all about. Harris was by no means any stranger to the world of cuisine. At the age of 47 he was the Executive Chef at Elizabeth Arden's world renowned health resort, Maine Chance in Phoenix Arizona.
Awarded the "World's Best" honor by Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous, Harris then went on to write two best selling 5 star cookbooks ( Pleasures of the Palate![]()
and Golden Kitchen The Artistry of Cooking and Dining On The Light Side. He was featured in prestigious magazines such as Bon Appetit and Food Arts, and as a result of his success had the opportunity to dine in some of the finest restaurants in the world. His journey continued when the Four Seasons (also very well known around here as my favorite hotel!) brought him on as a consultant for the new and healthy addition to their menu. Long story short, Harris and his wife were ready for a change and together made the decision to relocate permanently to the place where him and his family spent their summer vacations. San Diego California didn't know it yet, but it was about to become the home of The San Diego Pretzel Company. What started out as a pretzel cart in the Fashion Valley Mall over 16 years ago, has grown into a wildly successful wholesale and online business. Which brings us to today's fabulous Giveaway!
