Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal





A fabulous and very healthy way to start out your day! 





Ingredients for 1 hearty
or 2 petite servings:
2 tbs vegan margarine
1/2 cup steel cut oatmeal
1 1/2 cups hot water
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cooking apple diced
1/4 cup soy, oat. or nut milk
1-2 tsp brown sugar

Pinch of nutmeg
Preparation:
Step 1. Heat margarine in a small pan with a tight lid. Add oats and toast them for 1-2 minutes. Add cinnamon and salt and stir well.
Step 2. Stir in hot water and bring to a brisk boil. Cover and turn down heat. After 15 minutes, add apple, milk, sugar, and stir. Cook for 5 minutes uncovered stirring occasionally. 
Step 3. Scoop into a bowl, add a few orange slices, and sprinkle with brown sugar.
